Justice For Myanmar (JFM) released a statement on 20 March, welcoming the recommendation of Sweden’s Council on Ethics of the AP pension funds to exclude Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) due to its ongoing sales of military equipment to the Myanmar military over its links to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Sweden’s Council on Ethics of the AP pension funds has recommended the exclusion of Indian arms manufacturer Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) due to its ‘continued sale of weapons to the Myanmar military’, as detailed in the Council’s 2024 Annual Report.

နိုင်ငံတကာ၏ စီးပွားရေး ဒဏ်ခတ်ပိတ်ဆို့  အရေးယူမှုများကြောင့် အခက်အခဲအချို့ရှိသော်လည်း ထိုအခက်အခဲများကို ကျော်လွှားနိုင်သည်၊ ဒဏ်ခတ်ပိတ်ဆို့မှု ဖိအားများကြောင့် မြန်မာ့နိုင်ငံရေး အပေါ် သက်ရောက်မှု မရှိနိုင်ဟု အာဏာသိမ်းစစ်ခေါင်းဆောင်က ယနေ့ (မတ် ၂၁) မွန်းလွဲပိုင်းတွင် ပြောသည်။

အကြမ်းဖက်စစ်အုပ်စုထံ စစ်လက်နက်ရောင်းချနေသည့် အိန္ဒိယစစ်လက်နက်ကုမ္ပဏီ Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) ကို အရေးယူသည့်အနေဖြင့် ၄င်းကုမ္ပဏီတွင် ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံထားသော ရှယ်ယာများအား ပြန်လည်ထုတ်ယူပြီး၊ ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံစာရင်းမှ ထုတ်ပယ်လိုက်ကြောင်း ဆွီဒင်ပင်စင်ရန်ပုံငွေအဖွဲ့ ကျင့်ဝတ်ဆိုင်ရာကောင်စီ၏ အစီရင်ခံစာများအရ သိရသည်။

မြန်မာစစ်တပ်အတွက် စစ်လက်နက်ပစ္စည်းတွေတင်ပို့‌ရောင်းချနေတဲ့ အိန္ဒိယစစ်လက်နက်ကုမ္ပဏီ Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL)ကို ဆွီဒင်ပင်စင်ရန်ပုံငွေ ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံစာရင်းမှ ထုတ်ပယ်လိုက်တဲ့အပေါ်  Justic For Myanmar က ကြိုဆိုကြောင်း မတ် ၂၀ ရက်မှာ ထုတ်ပြန်ပါတယ်။

The ethics body overseeing Sweden’s four national multi-biillon dollar pension funds has recommended excluding public sector defence major, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), from its portfolio due to the company’s sales to Myanmar.

In a bombshell report released last year, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar accused five of Thailand’s biggest banks of facilitating the weapons trade of Myanmar’s military junta. To date, Thai authorities have yet to offer a public confirmation.
