Australia’s ANZ Bank has announced it will cease its operations in Myanmar by early 2023, the latest international firm to exit due to the economic and political turmoil that has followed last February’s coup d’état.

Australia’s ANZ Bank announced on Tuesday that it will pull out of Myanmar by early 2023 due to “rising operational complexities” over the past several months.

The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) said it will withdraw from Myanmar by early 2023, making it the first international bank to withdraw from the country.
