The NGO Justice For Myanmar has welcomed the UK government’s second round of sanctions targeting arms dealers trading with the military junta.

“မြန်မာစစ်တပ်သည် ၄င်း၏ရာဇဝင်တွင် တခါမျှ မရှိခဲ့ဖူးသော မြန်မာစစ်တပ်၏ ဖွဲ့စည်းမှုပုံစံနှင့်ပတ်သက်သည့် အသေးစိတ် အချက်အလက်များကို ဗီယက်နမ် စစ်တပ်သို့ လက်လွှဲပေးအပ်ခဲ့သည်” ဟု JFM က ထုတ်ပြန်သည်။

Campaign group Justice for Myanmar has called targeted sanctions against Telecom International Myanmar Company Limited, the company that operates the Mytel network because they are complicit in the military’s crimes against humanity.

Reports suggest that SIM cards issued to soldiers and civilians before the public launch of Mytel are being used to track their location and conversations.
