After much has been criticised and called out by activist groups, finally, India’s Adani Port has withdrawn its partnership with the Myanmar military conglomerate Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC).

Indian mining giant Adani Group has abandoned plans to build a container terminal in partnership with the Myanmar military, after a sustained campaign from human rights advocacy groups, and concern from the global finance sector.

Myanmar’s “Spring Revolution”, a culmination of citizen-led protests against the military takeover of power on 1 February 2021, has continued despite the authorities’ efforts to suppress it.

ရန်ကုန်တိုင်း အလုံမြို့နယ်မှာ ကုန်တင်ဆိပ်ကမ်းစီမံကိန်းတခုအတွက် အမေရိကန်ဒေါ်လာသန်း ၁၅၀ ကျော်ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံထားတဲ့ အိန္ဒိယနိုင်ငံက Adani ကုန်တင်ကုန် ချဆိပ်ကမ်းနဲ့ အထူးစီးပွားရေးဇုန် တည်ဆောက်ရေးကုမ္ပဏီဟာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံကနေ ထွက်ခွာတော့မယ်လို့ အောက်တိုဘာလ ၂၇ ရက်နေ့က ကြေညာလိုက်ပါတယ်။ လာမယ့်နှစ် ၂၀၂၂ ခုနှစ် မေလကနေ ဇွန်လအတွင်း အပြီးထွက်ခွာဖို့ မျှော်လင့် ထားတယ်လို့သိရပါတယ်။
