Myanmar’s anti-junta People’s Defense Force (PDF) militia has destroyed nearly four dozen towers operated by a military-run telecom since last week in a bid to decrease company revenue they say the regime will use to buy weapons to wield against the population.

Ukrainian companies are continuing to sell aircraft, ship, and tank parts and military surveillance tech to the junta,  despite the country voting in favour of a June 2021 UN General Assembly resolution to stop the flow of arms to Myanmar, according to a new report by activist group, Justice For Myanmar.

A rights group called for a halt to Ukraine’s arms deals with the Myanmar junta on Wednesday, urging Western governments to use their influence to cut off the eastern European country’s supply of weapons to the coup regime.
