シンガポール証券取引所（ＳＧＸ）上場のエマージング・タウンズ＆シティーズ・シンガポール（ＥＴＣシンガポール）が、ミャンマー最大都市ヤンゴンで開発に参画した複合施設「ゴールデンシティー」からの撤退を模索していることが分かった。

Norwegian telecoms giant Telenor said Friday it had finalised the sale of its Myanmar subsidiary, a move activist groups warn could put sensitive customer data in the hands of the military.

Telenor Myanmar’s operations were handed over on Friday to new owner Investcom, a partnership between Lebanon’s M1 Group and local conglomerate Shwe Byain Phyu, sources who are familiar with the matter told Myanmar Now.

According to pressure group Justice for Myanmar the M1 Group is set to violate sanctions on Myanmar through their acquisition, activation and transfer of a German lawful interception gateway as part of their purchase of Telenor Myanmar.

While Russia intensifies its bombardment of Ukraine, fewer bombs may fall in Myanmar’s raging civil war pitting a coup-installed military junta against new pro-democracy resistance armies and long-standing ethnic armed groups.
