A number of human rights groups have pleaded to Japanese businesses and property developers to terminate a proposed real estate development in Myanmar.

Det er libanesiske M1 Group som har kjøpt virksomheten for 105 millioner dollar, eller rundt 900 millioner kroner, hvorav 55 millioner dollar betales over fem år.

Human Rights organisation Justice for Myanmar (JFM) reported recently with disapproval the delivery of advanced surveillance equipment and other sensitive items produced by an Indian PSU to Myanmarese authorities. JFM spokesman Y. Maung complained that the equipment were being used against Myanmar’s own citizens and pro-democracy forces.

Beberapa organisasi hak asasi manusia (HAM), termasuk Human Rights Watch, mendesak Jepang membatalkan proyek real estate di Myanmar. Proyek tersebut melibatkan Kementerian Pertahanan Myanmar yang melakukan tindakan keras dan brutal terhadap massa demonstran penentang kudeta militer.

Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor announced on 8 July that it was selling its Myanmar operation to the Lebanese M1 group for $105m.

A Myanmar rights group said today it was “positive’ that international sanctions prevented an infamous Israeli-Canadian lobbyist, one-time arms dealer, spy and mouthpiece for despots the world over (See: Sudan, Zimbabwe, Libya) from getting paid by the ruling junta.

인권단체들이 일본 기업들에게 미얀마 군부와 관련한 상업용 부동산 개발 계획에 참여하는 것을 중단해야 한다고 촉구하고 나섰다.

緬甸2月1日軍方政變掌權至今仍深陷動亂，人民也持續街頭抗爭反對軍政府。15日，數個人權組織共同呼籲，日本企業應停止一項可能使緬甸軍方獲益的房地產開發計畫，並指出政府與企業應仔細考慮在緬甸從事商業活動，可能資助到軍方的風險。14日，美國國務卿布林肯（Antony Blinken）參與外交部長視訊會議時，敦促東協採取行動使緬甸能終結暴亂並恢復民主。
