Asian drinks giant Kirin said it has halted dividend payments from its beer businesses to its Myanmar military-owned partner Myanma Economic Holdings Public Company (MEHL) amid an independent probe and concerns from investors.

The Japanese beverages firm Kirin has suspended dividend payments to a tentacular Myanmar business conglomerate linked to the country’s military, the company announced this week.
