The Institute of Management Accountants said Wednesday it would drop out of an accounting conference in Singapore that it was scheduled to participate in later this month, joining two other groups in withdrawing because of the involvement of Myanmar officials after a military coup overthrew the democratically elected government earlier this year.

Accounting organizations CPA Australia and the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand have decided to withdraw from an upcoming accounting conference in Singapore due to the involvement of officials from Myanmar after a military coup this year, but other accounting organizations have not followed suit.

In an unprecedented and welcomed move, ASEAN excluded the attempted coup leader Min Aung Hlaing from the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summit.
