Myanmar activists have called for stronger laws to prevent the further sale of Australian defence-grade radios and other communications equipment used by the regime.

An Indian government-controlled arms maker with high-profile U.S. and European shareholders has been supplying Myanmar, even after the country’s military toppled a democratically elected government on February 1 and killed hundreds of civilians in a bid to crush any resistance, a local rights group has said.

Indian public sector unit (PSU) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has exported a remote-controlled air defence station to Myanmar this July, an activists’ forum that monitors the Junta’s arms purchases has claimed, citing a New York-based global data trade company. The BEL falls under the Indian Ministry of Defence.

人権団体「ジャスティス・フォー・ミャンマー（ＪＦＭ）」によると、ミャンマー海軍の関係者18人が、ウクライナへの入国を拒否されたもようだ。武器調達を目的に渡航しようとしたとみられている。独立系メディアのミャンマー・ナウが６日伝えた。
