Malaysian companies, some with state links, are supplying, or seeking to supply, goods and services to the Myanmar military as it intensifies its aerial campaign of terror, a Justice For Myanmar investigation published today based on leaked documents and trade records reveals.
Between 2023 and 2026, the Malaysian companies FJ Global Aeroparts (M) Sdn Bhd (FJ Global), Asia AeroTechnic Sdn Bhd (AAT) and Skyways Technics Asia Sdn Bhd have done or sought business with the Myanmar military and its brokers, which sustain its attacks on civilians.
The Malaysian aerospace procurement and services company FJ Global has sought to supply the Myanmar military with spare parts and critical components for combat jets, drones and helicopters, including weapons system parts. Many are for Russian-origin aircraft.
In February 2026, FJ Global secured financing from the state-backed Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB), a company under the Prime Minister’s Department that is wholly owned by Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra, which is chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
FJ Global has since issued multiple requests for quotations to international suppliers for parts for the Myanmar military’s K-8W light attack jets, Orlan-10E unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Kamov Ka-28 anti-submarine helicopters and Mi-17 and Mi-2 helicopters.
According to Justice For Myanmar sources, Myanmar military engineers visited the Malaysian company Asia AeroTechnic Sdn Bhd (AAT) in February 2026 regarding repairs to an Airbus A319 owned by the Myanmar military.
AAT is a Malaysian aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company that is wholly owned by MARA Corporation Sdn Bhd, which is owned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), an agency of the Malaysian Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
A third Malaysian company, the Danish-owned Skyways Technics Asia Sdn Bhd, has made numerous shipments of aircraft parts to known Myanmar arms brokers, which Justice For Myanmar assesses are likely destined for the Myanmar Air Force.
Recipients include Light Head Group of Companies, K L S Aviation, United Five and Lucky High, which are registered suppliers to the army’s Directorate of Procurement.
Airlines that have been documented providing support to the Myanmar Air Force, including the junta-controlled Myanmar National Airlines and the 24 Hour Group-owned Mingalar Aviation (formerly Air KBZ), have also sought to send Skyways aircraft parts for repair.
By knowingly providing support to the Myanmar military as it commits war crimes and crimes against humanity, Malaysian businesses could be aiding and abetting those crimes.
Malaysia also continues to facilitate the Myanmar military’s participation in ASEAN defence and security programmes, deepening the bloc’s complicity in the junta’s international crimes.
According to Justice For Myanmar sources, Malaysia has invited a Myanmar junta delegation led by Hlaing Min, a police brigadier general and director of the notorious Special Branch, to attend the 49th ASEAN Intelligence Community Conference (AICC) scheduled for November 2 to 6, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur.
The invitation comes at the behest of Malaysia’s Director General of the Research Division within the Prime Minister’s Department. Malaysia is to cover travel expenses, including air tickets, accommodation, meals and local transport for the junta delegation.
In 2025, the Myanmar military participated in the 14th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM)-Plus Experts Working Group on Counter-Terrorism, which was co-chaired by Malaysia and India.
Malaysian support for the Myanmar junta exposes the hypocrisy of its stated commitment to ending violence in Myanmar.
Stop legitimising the war criminal Min Aung Hlaing and the illegal junta
These commercial and military ties continue as the Malaysian government lends false legitimacy to the illegal Myanmar junta.
In October 2026, Malaysia is hosting junta head and war criminal Min Aung Hlaing on an official visit, during which they are set to discuss the "return" of Rohingya and other Myanmar people. Civil society have demanded that the planned refoulement be halted.
Min Aung Hlaing, who is sanctioned by Australia, Canada, the EU, UK and USA, continues to evade accountability for the crime of genocide against the Rohingya and ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has applied for a warrant for his arrest.
Justice For Myanmar condemns the decision of the Malaysian government to host Min Aung Hlaing and demands a halt to the refoulement of Myanmar people, including Rohingya who are victims of the military’s genocide.
The Malaysian government must stop Malaysian companies from transferring military equipment, aircraft components and spare parts, and from providing maintenance services, to the Myanmar military, and investigate FJ Global, AAT and Skyways Technics Asia.
Justice For Myanmar also calls on Australia, Canada, the EU, UK and USA to sanction those supplying and providing maintenance and repair services to the Myanmar military, including Light Head Group of Companies, K L S Aviation, United Five and Lucky High.
Justice For Myanmar spokesperson Yadanar Maung says: "It is deplorable that Malaysia is awarding false legitimacy to the war criminal Min Aung Hlaing and handing people back to his criminal junta, while doing nothing to stop its companies from supplying a military that is committing mass atrocities.
"Malaysia’s stance on the Five-Point Consensus and its calls for peace in Myanmar ring hollow while it fails to stop its companies from providing the military with equipment and services that support its campaign of terror against the people.
“Malaysia and all other governments must cut off the junta’s access to funds, arms, dual-use goods, MRO, technology and aviation fuel, and immediately stop legitimising the illegal junta.
"Companies that broker arms, equipment and aviation fuel for the illegal junta must be sanctioned and held accountable for aiding and abetting the junta’s international crimes."
