El Gobierno Unidad Nacional de Birmania (NUG). formado por cargos cercanos a la depuesta líder Aung San Suu Kyi, y otros grupos denunciaron este lunes que el fondo soberano australiano Future Fund ha invertido en varias empresas, incluido el sector armamentístico, que hacen negocios con la junta militar en el poder desde el golpe de Estado del 1 de febrero.

Myanmar's shadow civilian government has criticised Australia's sovereign wealth fund for investing in several companies — including weapons manufacturers — that have done business with Myanmar's military.

The sovereign wealth fund has equity holdings valued at $157.9 million across several companies with alleged business links to the Myanmar military.

Australia’s Future Fund has almost $158m invested in companies directly linked to the Myanmar junta, including subsidiaries of a Chinese arms manufacturer that has sold fighter jets and missiles to the military.

Australia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Future Fund, has invested in a Chinese state-controlled weapons manufacturer that has sold combat aircraft to the Myanmar military, which is accused of crimes against humanity.
